What should I wear and how should I do my hair for homecoming?

It's my first time going to homecoming,and I'm going with some friends , the theme is in the 1950's like they dressed on Idlewild. i want to follow the theme, but not over do it. I don't know how to wear my hair. Where can I find a nice simple, cute 50's style dress, and how should I wear my hair. I also don't like to dance in front of people, and I don't know if i can even dance. so what should I do so I can have fun? I need some advice. Would it be ok not to follow the theme and just wear a pretty dress with my hair down?What should I wear and how should I do my hair for homecoming?
