How can i make a red prom dress look goth?

Prom's coming up real soon, I've got a red floor length prom dress which is just like any other prom dress because I can't afford a new one. I would buy a really dramatic victorian/goth style dress if I could. I really want to stand out and not look like anyone else, how could I make it look more goth/individual with accessories hair styles etc. I have got long curly black hair. How can i make a red prom dress look goth?
Black gloves would be classy.

Black jewelry, especially the chunky, intricate kind.

And your makeup could have smoky eyes as well. How can i make a red prom dress look goth?
Get black net curtains ! with there intrecate patters. simple effective.
Easy tear up the bottom and these really works take a tennis ball and rub it over the dress it gives it an old look and then splatter it with black and wear black boot and a big gothic necklace. Also if you make your face look goth that helps too and wear a black rose.
wear a little top hat with the vials i think they sell them at Clair's and the do black nail polish bright red lip stick and a black smoky eye for make up that should do it!

I hope this page helps and I love the hair stlye at the bottom of the page!
Add Black. Find some black lace at a fabric store and add it to the dress. Scroll through this image search for some ideas perhaps:

Accessorize in Black. Go to Hot Topic to find jewelry to accessorize with.

Good Luck!
Try...

A Little black top hat with black veil.

Spiked bracelets.

Shoes! Shoes are key, gothic shoes will make you seem individual.

Long curly hair is great, it will look amazing with a mini top hat and black veil! (:
yea the first answer is span being posted everywhere. if the dress doesn't make the look you want, accessories and the right makeup can! Dark makeup and goth inspired jewelry, if it works with the dress you can find a black or white corset to go over the dress and maybe some lacy black gloves. Red IS a gothic color you just have to add black to make it work.
The right accessories. A black rosary? short black lace gloves, ripped black stockings, pointy black boots, etc

Also the make-up and hair - A lot of black eyeliner and vampire red lips
try a black choker necklace. or a dog collar necklace what ever you call them.

a red and black ribbon or head band with a bow on it. with the knot sitting to the side. or even a hat with black lace styled veil.

Gothic make up each one has their own style but make it dark.

Gothic shoes.

uh... try a black sash around the middle which sits low on one side.

taking in the top part to make it more of a corset style.

wear black gloves i don't know how to explain the kinds but you get them in Gothic cloths shops or costume shops.

that's all i can think of at the moment if i think of anything else ill add it on.
Find a beaded black choker, preferably one that is a choker that sort of spreads down your chest. Us girls with black hair have it easy when trying to look a little gothic, just leave it down, or only pull up a few pieces...up-dos make you look more classically formal.

As for shoes, I've got a pair of these which I love, but you can always go with something a little more extreme. I'd stick to non-dangly earrings if you go with a phatty necklace like I was talking about above:

As far as makeup, go with smokey eyes...and don't overdo it on the lipstick. :o)

Hope this give you some ideas!
DRESS: I don't know if it's too late, but if you can, you might want to try bringing your dress to a tailor and having her add something to it, like black lace, or a petticoat, or even a corset-like motif to the top. Adding touches of black and intricate black detailing can definitely add drama to your dress.

ACCESSORIES: Try adding some really gothic-y, victorian jewelry. Perhaps la very dramatic choker, or big chandelier earrings, or a rosary, or even piling a whole tangle of black jewelry might do the trick.

Chokers- take a look at these for inspiration. I particularly like the last and second to last one:

and these might work too:

Also, I think little black lace gloves (or half-gloves/fingerless gloves) would look stunning and instantly make your look a lot more gothic.

Oh! and my friend didn't really do a gothic-y theme last year, but she's pretty edgy and she a birdcage veil hat-sort of thing and it looked absolutely amazing! (except hers was black and less of a hat- more of a flower and feather with the veil)

SHOES: Definitely have to go with something dark and edgy. I could totally see someone going in like Doc Martens or combat boots with a gothic dress. Haha. But if you want to glam it up a bit, maybe try something like fierce boots, edgy booties, or cut out booties/heels?

I also LOVE the idea of a lace bootie with your dress:

Make Up: I'm thinking a dark smokey eye and dark red lips. But, this might make you look a little drag queen-esque. haha So you can pick one to accentuate- you could go with a neutral eye, (with like dark winged liner and very neutral shadow) and super dark/bold crimson lips. Or reverse that and go with a nude/lighter lip with a very exaggerated dark smokey eye.
just slap some human blood on that puppy and holy tolidos are we ready to rock the buttfunk off!woooo!........... ';hopefully i helped';
