I have some really awesome mterial that I want to make a dress out of but I'm not sure how to go about it. I think I want to make it a quite simple, 60's shift dress style, straight with a medium neckline (not hight or low) but I don't know how should do this. I've looked at dress patterns but I've yet to find exactly what I want and I was wondering if there was a cheaper way to make it without one. Any tips or links to good sites would be greatly appreciated. ThanksMaking my own dress from scratch?

search around and you can find tons and tons of tutorials for dresses, skirts, shirts, you name it.
and worse comes to worse if you can't find a tutorial, you can find links to free patterns online, you can find helpful tips for sewing styles that you may want to use or even find new ides, and you will definitely find people who can point you in the right direction.
