I am engaged but my fiance and I do not plan to marry for 2 to 4 years as we have a lot of (mostly financial) issues to sort out before hand. Anyway, I haven't done much wedding planning for myself but I am the kind of girl who knows what she wants, and while helping a good friend with her wedding (I was a bridesmaid) I saw a dress that I love. My friend is my exact height and near my size (we are extremely petite for adults), she tried it on but did not chose it eventhough it looked great on our body type, just wasn't her style I guess. My question is, how long do you think styles that are out now will be available. This was not a desginer dress, I think, so it wasn't part of a runway collection. I don't want to buy a dress now, it's too early but I don't want to lose the opportunity. I was thinking of just printing the picture from the bridal shops website and when I eventually get married I can have one made to match. Is that a good idea? Thanks for the help.Question about Wedding Dress Style availability?
Yes! Thats a great idea, you should do that. Chances are, in a year, that exact dress you had your eye on won't be avaliable!! You should try to get it- maybe they have a layaway service?? You could do that. But if the style isn't extremely intricate then i'm sure you can find one that's similar somewhere else! Print those dresses off though, girl! That's your best bet! If your comfortable enough with your relationship, i think you should GET the dress early. Last minute decisions always fall apart in weddings. :) * experience.* hope i helped!Question about Wedding Dress Style availability?
It'll be really expensive if you don't have a seamstress in the family, and it won't be exactly the same if you have one made. Either get both of them now or neither.
well if you saw it more then 6 months ago, its probally on Clarence or discontinued. It defiantly will not be there in 2-4 years. its also not smart to buy one now because you might split up or something like that, then you would be in trouble finacily
i think that is a great idea. If it is a classic style, there will probably be a similar dress in 2-4 years. But why chance it? If I were you, I would go to the shop, try it on and take pictures from every angle. That way you can more easily have it reproduced. Good luck.....
Styles may stay or change, you never know! Wait tilla year before and go look. you may find soemthign you love even more!
You could always go back %26amp; try it on %26amp; see if you really do like it (and know your size in it). And then get a picture like you said to keep in mind. You could also watch the websites for sales - maybe it will go on clearance, and then you could always get it - just in case, and if you never use it, you could put it on E-bay... Petite dresses are hard to find, so it might be a good idea to consider it now, if you are sure of your relationship - watch for sales %26amp; be on the hunt for deals on E-bay, etc.
If you cant afford to buy it now and save it, then get lots of pictures of it so that you can find it or something similar later on.
I would like to make a suggestion... Buying your dress too early can be a bad idea... the general style probably won't be ';out'; and if you really like it, just remember the designer and look a little closer to your date. I bought my dress really early and almost wanted to buy a new one right before the wedding (I didn't and I'm glad)
I suggest starting to put money aside and you'll remember the dress and the designer, but I think you should wait....
